Helsinki City Reception

The city warmly welcomes all delegates to Helsinki. The reception will be held at the Old Town Hall (also known as Bock House), one of the neoclassical bourgeois houses adjacent to the Senate Square.

A light buffet will be served, and to avoid food waste, everyone needs to register for the event. You will receive the registration link in August after having completed your symposium registration. Remember to have your confirmation with you when you arrive and to wear your conference badge.

Adventure Tour
Wednesday, 6 September at 19:00-21:00

You are welcomed to participate in an adventure tour, an event that takes you on a journey through some of Helsinki's most famous landmarks and hidden gems. Starting at the Senate Square, you'll team up with others and walk through the city's streets, taking on challenges and solving puzzles along the way. 

The finish line of the adventure takes place at the historical bar Juttutupa, near the conference hotels. The total duration of the adventure tour is 2 hours, starting at 19 and ending at 21. After the tour you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere and refreshments at Juttutupa. 

Good walking shoes are recommended!


Pre-dinner cruise in the Helsinki archipelago

Included in the price of the Symposium Dinner 

During the 1.5 hour sightseeing cruise, we’ll enjoy the best views of the city from the sea. The cruise starts from the Market Square (Kauppatori), and along the way we will admire, among other things, the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress.

Our Symposium Dinner will be enjoyed at Restaurant Saaristo, an Art Nouveau style villa built in 1899. The restaurant, located on Klippan Island, just 100 m off the city coastline, offers the best delicacies of Scandinavian cuisine and panoramic views overlooking both the sea and the city centre.
